H left that Tuesday and I got a call on Saturday afternoon. He sounded horrible. I read from some of the other wives to expect this so it wasn't a total shock. He had to read off of a card and couldn't say more than that. It was pretty basic.. "I have arrived safely at Lackland AFB, please get a pen and piece of paper to copy down my address..."
It is extremely hard to hear them so listen carefully. I would tell you to put a notepad and pen in your purse and keep it on you at all times. I received the postcard on Monday and the address was different. I was freaking out. I now know this is normal. H's MTI gave the first 5 trainees the wrong address and H was the first to use the phone. He still did get my letters, just a little late.
