So I don't think I've done a 'discount' post yet to say all the places that give discounts. At first I hated asking, but now its a habit. Now let me say, it's not like I don't buy something if I don't get a discount, it's just a nice 'perk' if I/we do. I don't huff and puff if I don't either, I just smile and move on with my day.
Let me start off by the ones we get discounts from.
Note: Some of these places vary by location and managers/owners.
Aeropostale
New York & Company
Old Navy (It's like the first Wed. of every month, call to make sure that's the day.)
Lowes Home Improvement Store
Home Depot (Only at certain ones)
Subway
KFC
Arby's
Beef O' Bradys (I don't know if this is a local thing or not)
Champs
Finishline
Disney World Hotels
Charlotte Russe
GM Vehicles
Don't forget most airlines give military discount (even to spouses). The best way to find out is to call the airline directly.
Here is a link to more, I know they may vary.
Disney is also offering a special offer for 2010. Here is the link to that.
Universal Studios also offer special rates for military. Check out their website because it depends if you're going to CA or FL.
Sea World & Busch Gardens (who are both owned by the same company) offer the 'Hero's Salute' which is a one free day for the service member and I think 3 dependents for any one day at any one park. Here is the link to that.
Remember, if you're traveling to check out military hotels like Shades of Green in Orlando or Hale Koa Hotel in Hawaii. If there isn't a specific military hotel in the area you're going see if there is a base/post nearby. Staying in a room on base is usually much cheaper!

I'm the same way, I won't specifically avoid a business that doesn't offer military discounts, but I definitely want to give my appreciation (in the form of my patronage) to a business that does.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me so happy when we get a military discount somewhere!
