PSA!!

I read on one of the forums that I frequent that people are going around on base (how they get on i have no idea) and knocking on the spouses door who has a deployed husband saying he passed away to get their SS#. I am so disgusted. I can't believe people have the nerve to do this. I've heard it's made it's way around some of the west coast Marine bases, but that doesn't mean people aren't doing it on Army posts or AF/CG/Navy bases.

Let me just say if you husband passes away (God forbid), it will usually not just be one person who comes and tells you and I'm pretty sure they won't be asking for your or your husbands SS#.

Just be careful! When something seems fishy, it normally is. If you have the slightest feeling it's a scam close the door or hang up and get into contact with the authorities and if you have your husbands Command numbers (which you should) call them and ask them if they've heard of it.
Just keep your eyes open!!
